About Back 2 Back Gymnastics

Back 2 Back is a friendly, welcoming club where gymnasts of all ages and abilities can learn, grow and enjoy the sport we love.

Our Story

How It All Began

Back 2 Back Gymnastics began with three friends, Becca, Adele and Ceri, who trained together at Park-Wrekin Gymnastics Club throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. After years of competing at county, regional, national and international level, their paths eventually took them in different directions.

Years later, they found their way back to each other and, with their shared love of gymnastics still as strong as ever, began dreaming about creating their own club. In 2016, that dream became a reality and Back 2 Back Gymnastics was born.

Today, our aim remains simple: to create a welcoming place where everyone can enjoy gymnastics, build confidence and have the opportunity to be the best they can be.

We love gymnastics. We always have, and we always will.

The Founders

Meet the Team

Adele Booth

Adele started gymnastics at Riverside Recreation Centre in Stafford at the age of seven, before moving to Park-Wrekin Gymnastics Club two years later. She went on to receive a gymnastics scholarship to Wrekin College, allowing her to combine her education with an intensive gymnastics training programme.

Whilst at Wrekin College, Adele trained under Christine and Colin Still and completed the British Gymnastics Grading system. She qualified to compete at the Junior British Championships and also had the opportunity to compete internationally in California during her time at the college.

Ceri Cox

Ceri started gymnastics at a small club in Sutton Coldfield before moving to City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club at the age of seven. At ten, she moved to Park-Wrekin Gymnastics Club, training at Lilleshall with Christine Still and competing successfully at regional and national level.

Ceri represented the West Midlands from the age of nine, winning the West Midlands Regional Championship at eleven. She qualified for the Junior British Championships and was part of the silver medal-winning team at the 1991 British Team Championships. She later represented Wales before moving into Sports Aerobics, where she achieved further success at British Championship level.

Rebecca Lewis

Rebecca began gymnastics at North Staffs Gymnastics Club, representing the West Midlands at the Weetabix Young Gymnast of the Year competition in 1991. At thirteen, she moved to Park-Wrekin Gymnastics Club, training with Chris and Colin Still and quickly establishing herself at national level.

Rebecca placed in the top five at the Junior British Championships and earned her first opportunity to represent Great Britain. As a senior, she competed nationally and internationally, including the Bosphorus Cup in Turkey, before receiving a scholarship to UWIC in Cardiff. Following her university career, Rebecca moved to London and established a successful career as a Personal Trainer.

All gymnasts must hold a valid British Gymnastics membership, so everyone is properly insured and covered while training with us. Memberships and renewals are managed directly through British Gymnastics — it’s your responsibility to keep yours active, as data protection rules mean we can’t manage it on your behalf.

Young Leaders

Around 30 young leaders, learning to lead

Our Young Leaders work alongside coaches, using their own gymnastics experience to help coach younger members, while building their leadership, coaching and communication skills. Past projects include a Charity Fun Day and a Sponsored 5 Mile Run supporting a young gymnast through a serious illness.

The MY Leadership Academy Programme is designed to create a structure which young people can follow to help them develop as leaders within gymnastics environments (schools, clubs and leisure centres). The programme encourages leaders to complete five different ‘topic’ areas:

My Learning

Courses

Generic & sport-specific training.

My Development

Mentoring

Identify and learn from a mentor.

My Volunteering

Give time

At events and meetings.

My Future

Plan ahead

Set and work towards goals.

My Projects

Lead a project

Benefiting themselves & the club.

Open to ages 11–17 (and 17+ by arrangement). Interested? Speak to a coach or email info@back2backgymnastics.co.uk.
